Pedestrian struck by vehicle in Oshawa

A 37-year-old female pedestrian was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle in Oshawa.

Officers were called to a serious collision at the intersection of King Street East and Central Park Boulevard on Saturday, Aug. 28 at approximately 9:04 p.m. Police say that a female crossing the intersection was struck by a white Dodge Grand Caravan travelling eastbound.

First responders attended the scene within minutes and provided medical assistance to the female pedestrian. She was transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre originally with life-threatening injuries.

At the hospital, the female’s condition was downgraded to serious but non-life threatening injuries, and was listed in stable condition. The driver of the van did not sustain any injuries.

Members of the DRPS Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene to conduct an investigation. The area of roadway was closed for several hours while evidence was collected.
