Oshawa teen charged in knife-point robbery

A pair of teens are facing charges after robbing another teen of his backpack at knifepoint.

On Sept. 26, at approximately noon, members of Central West Division were called to Burns Street West and McCullough Drive in Whitby for a street-level robbery.

A 16-year-old male was walking from school when he was approached by two teens. The suspects, who were armed with knives, demanded that the victim hand over his backpack. The victim, fearing for his safety, handed over the property and the suspects fled on foot.

A 16-year-old male from Oshawa and an 18-year-old of Hurley Road in Ajax are charged with robbery, weapons dangerous and failing to comply with conditions. Both were held for a bail hearing.
