Increases to speed limits questioned

Dear Editor,

Here we go again. Premier Doug Ford is once again making unilateral decisions without listening to anybody.

I would agree with a lot of what Mr. Ford says except that he does not listen to anybody.  Twice now Sgt. Kerry Schmidt of the OPP Highway Division has stated that speed is the number one cause of deaths on the roadway.

And Ford wants to increase the maximum speed limit from 100 km/h to 110 km/h. This makes absolutely no sense; increase the speed limit and there will be fewer accidents.

Mr. Ford does not listen to the police, nor does he listen to anybody else.

I wonder how many conservatives agree with him?

Ford is increasingly acting like the President of the United States and no one seems to be able to stop him.

I agree that the Province of Ontario needs to save money and if that means cutting some services then have at it, but please Mr. Ford, listen to your public (or your voting base) or you will be perceived as the uncaring premier.

Please do not let your power be compared to an Harris government or McGuinty/Wynne government. Do what is right.
