A GoFundMe campaign has launched in support of the family of an 18-year-old Oshawa teen fatally shot last week.
Devon Patten was killed on Aug. 2 near a housing complex on Pentland Street in the city.
Police said several shots were fired in the area and multiple suspects were seen fleeing from the scene.
No arrests have been made in connection to the case.
The campaign was launched by Devon’s aunt Charmen Patten-Wellington.
She describes her nephew as a “straight A student who didn’t miss a day of school.”
“He was a teen that had some hard times but his last request was to go back to school and do great things,” she writes.
Patten-Wellington said the tragedy has reminded them to “spend time with family when we can.”
The campaign, which aims to support Patten’s two brothers, has raised $2,700 of its $20,000 goal.
