Young cyclist hit by car

Police are searching for two bystanders who may have seen a boy hit by a car earlier this month.

On Thursday, July 9 at approximately 10:45 p.m., the 13-year-old boy was riding his bicycle in the area of Grandview Street and Salmers Drive when a northbound car hit him.

The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and the boy was taken to hospital. He was treated for his injuries before being released.

The incident was not reported to police until the following Sunday, July 12.

Durham police would like to speak with the drivers of two vehicles that were seen in the area at the time of the incident, and it is believed they may live in the neighbourhood.

The first driver is described as a white female in her 30s with long, blonde curly hair and wearing a white cardigan. She was seen driving a dark coloured GMC Acadia.

The second driver is described as a white, heavy-built male in his 30s with dark, short spiky hair. He was seen wearing a plaid shirt. He was driving a black four-door Ford or Mazda.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call Const. Paradine at 1-888-579-1520, ext. 1836.
