Suspect wanted after assault on GO train
Durham police are seeking a wanted male suspect after two Metrolinx employees were assaulted on board a GO train.
On Aug. 5, around 7 p.m., Durham police were called to the north platform of the Metrolinx Whitby Station for a disturbance.
The suspect had entered the westbound train at the Oshawa station, and became involved in a verbal altercation with a Metrolinx employee. The suspect then became assaultive, pushed the victim down and began striking him.
The train engineer attended to assist the victim and was also assaulted by the suspect. The victims managed to get him off the train and the suspect fled on foot before police arrived.
The two male victims suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene.
The suspect is described as a white male, 5’9” tall with short hair and a thin build. He was wearing a black shirt with cut-off sleeves, camouflage pants, dark mask, and was missing a black shoe.
