Region replacing water pipes in Oshawa

Water service connections on St. Lawrence Street are set to be replaced by the region.

The project includes replacement of existing polybutylene piping with new copper pipe and relocation of the water service valves to property lines.

Crews will begin work in mid-September and are expected to complete the work by the end of the month. Unfavorable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.
This project includes permanent restoration of all disturbed areas throughout the limits of construction.
All roadways will remain open to traffic during construction.

Local residents should expect minor delays and are asked to drive cautiously for the safety of the construction workers, cyclists and pedestrians in the area.

Access to residential driveways will be maintained whenever possible.

However, notification will be given to residents if vehicles need to be temporarily relocated out of the driveway to provide access for construction.

Residents will experience intermittent water supply interruptions. The contractor will notify homeowners at least 24 hours in advance of any service interruptions.

It is recommended homeowners keep a supply of water in containers for drinking, cooking and general purposes during the service interruptions.
