R.I.D.E. program stop 450 vehicles

Several R.I.D.E. stops set up in Oshawa and Ajax last week saw hundreds of vehicles checked and several charges laid.

Police say from the 450 vehicles checked, 11 drivers were given roadside screening tests, with two of them being arrested for impaired driving, three drivers given three-day licence suspensions and one being charged for possession of a controlled substance.

Durham police operates the spot checks throughout the year, and remind residents not to operate a vehicle if they have been drinking.
