One man, 136 charges

Durham police have made an arrest after numerous cars and a business were broken in to in Oshawa.

Throughout March, police have received reports of vehicles being broken in to in the area of Bloor and Oxford streets. Many of these incidents involved windows being smashed, with small electronics, loose change, wallets and sunglasses stolen from some.

Police say a man was arrested March 19 in connection with one vehicle theft, but charges were later filed in connection with 46 more incidents, including a break in at a business.

A 28-year-old male is facing one charge of theft of a motor vehicle, 28 charges of mischief and property damage under $5,000, 18 counts of theft from a motor vehicle of under $5,000, one count of breaking and entering into a business with intent, one count of breaking and entering into a business to commit a crime and 87 counts of breaching probation.
