Man injured after e-bike collision

A 57-year-old Oshawa man was sent to hospital after rear-ending another vehicle on his e-bike.

On Nov. 23, officers from Central East Division were called to a rear-end motor vehicle collision involving a motor vehicle and an electric bike. A black and camouflage colour electric bike was westbound on Bond Street West when it collided with a blue Chevrolet Equinox, which was stopped on Bond Street West, waiting to turn right, providing right of way for a pedestrian walking on a sidewalk.

The 57-year-old operator of the electric bike was transported to Lakeridge Health Oshawa and treated for the non-life threatening injuries sustained in the collision. The 58-year-old driver of the Chevrolet Equinox was uninjured and remained at the scene of the collision cooperating with police in the investigation.

Members of the DRPS Traffic Services Branch, Collision Investigation Unit, attended the scene to conduct an investigation. The area of the roadway was closed for several hours while evidence was collected.
