Kauffeldt makes out for Team Ontario
A member of the 16U Oshawa Legionaires will be representing his province later this month.
Centrefielder Jason Kauffeldt was selected to the 20-man roster of Team Ontario for the Canada Summer Games in Winnipeg recently.
Legionaires coach Jamie May says Kauffeldt was the only player from Elite Baseball League of Ontario’s 16U division to make the team and will be playing with boys mostly a year older than him, which May says is an impressive achievement.
“We are very excited about that,” May says. “It should be a great experience for him.”
Kauffeldt, heading into his Grade 11 year, is currently second in the 16U division with a .429 batting average.
The Canada Summer Games run July 28 to Aug. 5.
