Fire set at hydro tower on city border

Durham police are seeking anyone who has information on a fire that caused $10,000 worth of damage at a construction site of a future hydro tower.

Some time between Saturday, May 2 and Monday, May 4, police say a suspect or suspects entered the Hydro One construction site on Townline Road North near Winchester Road along the border between Oshawa and Clarington. A stack of skids holding parts for the tower were set on fire using lit cardboard boxes.

Police say the fire had no effect on local electrical service.
