Blue Jays camp returning in May
The Blue Jays Baseball Academy will be hosting Honda Instructional Clinics throughout Ontario from April through June for amateur players aged 8 to 14.
A clinic will be held in Oshawa at Durham College Field between 3 and 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 26.
Cost of the camps is $55 per player.
Blue Jays Academy Instructors will focus on teaching young players of all abilities the fundamental skills of baseball in a fun and structured atmosphere.
Each clinic will be four hours in length. During the clinic, players will rotate through drills that will cover all skills including: hitting, throwing, fielding, pitching and base running.
Coaches and parents are invited to come on to the field during the clinic to observe different drills and ask instructors questions to enhance understanding.
Each participant will receive a Blue Jays hat, T-shirt and baseball manual.
Honda Instructional Clinics also serve as a fundraising opportunity for the host baseball association or little league, as $25 from each registration is donated back to the host organization after the first 25 registrations.
In 2017, the Blue Jays were able to donate over $51,000 back to amateur baseball in Ontario as a result.
