Arrest in murder investigation
A man has been arrested in connection with the murder of an Oshawa teen earlier this year.
At approximately 11 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 18, Hamilton police and OPP stopped a GO Transit bus on the Gardiner Expressway in Toronto. This came after Durham police learned that a person of interest who was also wanted on an unrelated warrant for assault was on board.
After the bus was stopped, detectives from Durham police arrived and entered the bus, arresting the suspect without incident.
The arrest was made in connection with the death of Tehganni Lewis, 19, last month. Lewis was originally found early on the morning of Jan. 23 at a Cedar Street rooming house with life-threatening injuries. A week later, Lewis died from those injuries.
A 53-year-old male of no fixed address has been charged with second degree murder.
Police say they are not seeking any other suspects.
