Woman seriously injured in crash

An Oshawa woman is recovering in hospital after a car crash in the city’s north end over the weekend.

Shortly before 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25, police were called to the scene of a motor vehicle collision involving four vehicles on Simcoe Street North at Winchester Road. A witness at the scene reported that a Saturn SUV was headed south on Simcoe through the intersection with Winchester when it was hit by an eastbound Honda Civic.

As a result, two vehicles stopped on Simcoe were hit by the out of control Saturn.

The Saturn’s driver, a 43-year-old Oshawa woman, was taken by ambulance to hospital with serious injuries. Two other people were taken to hospital with minor injuries and have since been released.
