Three homes broken into

Police are seeking the public’s assistance after three homes in north Oshawa were broken into.

At approximately 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 29, police responded to Hunking Drive, near Conlin Road East and Townline Road North, for a break-in. According to police, a resident was home when he heard a loud bang on the main floor. The front door had been kicked open and a suspect had already exited through the rear sliding doors. Police say it appears nothing was stolen, as the suspect may have heard the occupant and fled.

Officers have since investigated two similar break and enters in the same neighbourhood, with the front door forced open and items stolen from the home.

One of the incidents took place at a house on Kurelo Drive while nobody was home, while another on Queensbury Drive was reported the following day.

Police are calling on residents who may have captured the suspect on video surveillance to contact them, and to report any suspicious activity in the neighbourhood.

Police also advise the suspect may knock on the door prior to entry, and claim he or she has the wrong house if the door is answered.

Anyone with information is asked to call Det. Const. Price at 1-888-579-1520, ext. 1613.
