Teen seriously injured in stabbing at G.L. Roberts school

Police are investigating after an 18-year-old was stabbed outside of G.L. Roberts Secondary School during an after-school fight.

The fight took place near the school’s football field on Chaleur Avenue on Sept. 6. The two males were fighting when one stabbed the other and then ran from the scene.

Officers arrived and searched the area, but no arrests were made.

The victim was rushed to nearby hospital for treatment for what was thought to be minor injuries, but was later transferred to a Toronto trauma centre for surgery. He remains in hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.

The suspect is described as a 6’0 black male, between 16 and 19 and was wearing a red coat and black pants.
