Teen bites officers

Two Durham Regional Police Service officers received minor injuries after they were bitten by a 17-year-old male resisting arrest.
On Thursday, Oct. 5, at approximately 8:20 p.m., a male was running into traffic in the King Street East and Oshawa Boulevard North area of Oshawa. Two officers responded and as they tried to apprehend the male under the Mental Health Act, the male resisted and bit both officers, who were subsequently treated for minor injuries.
A 17-year-old male from Oshawa has been charged with two counts of assault with intent to resist arrest. He was held for a psychiatric assessment.
