Investigators have laid charges against two parties in connection to a downtown shooting earlier this month.
At around 9 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 30, Durham Regional Police officers were called to an apartment building on Elgin Court in Oshawa after numerous citizens reported hearing multiple gunshots in the vicinity. Several males were seen running from the scene in different directions.
Officers arrived and located a 54-year-old female and 23-year-old male suffering from gunshot wounds.
They were rushed to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injures and later transferred to a Toronto trauma centre. The third shooting victim, a 22-year-old male, was taken to hospital by a friend and also treated for non-life threatening injures.
Rashid Plummer, 23, of no fixed address, faces three charges of aggravated assault, plus a number of other related charges. Eric McEwan, 23, of Whitby, also faces a host of firearm and drug related charges. Both of the accused remained in custody pending bail hearings.
Investigators believe there were more witnesses present during the shooting and would like them to come forward to provide information.
