Suspicious death investigation turned over to OPP
The investigation into the death of a man whose body was found in North Oshawa has been turned over to the Wellington County OPP.
On March 13, at approximately 8:10 a.m., a City of Oshawa employee driving on Stevenson Road North just south of Raglan Road West in north Oshawa observed a body on the west side of the road. When he got a closer look and confirmed it was a deceased male, he called police.
Officers attended and confirmed it was the body of an adult male with obvious signs of trauma.
The man was later identified as Jason John Brown, 43, of Kitchener.
According to Wellington County OPP, Brown had been reported missing around 6:30 p.m. from a residence in the Town of Minto, located about 70 km northwest of Kitchener.
A post-mortem was completed on March 15, and the death is now being treated as homicide.
Durham Regional Police Service is continuing to assist in the investigation.
