School board, custodial staff reach deal

The Durham District School Board and the union representing its custodial and maintenance staff have reached a new tentative collective agreement.

According to a news release, the deal between the school board and CUPE Local 218’s Custodial/Maintenance Unit will affect more than 570 staff. Details of the deal will remain confidential until it is ratified by both parties. Ratification votes for both the union and the board are expected to take place this month.
