An Oshawa truck driver is facing several charges after his load fell off his truck, shutting down a Brockville road.
Shortly after 7 a.m. on Friday, March 4, Brockville police responded to a road just off Highway 401 after receiving a call that a loaded trailer had detached from a truck. As a result, both north and south bound lanes of Augusta Road in Brockville were shut down as crews removed the truck and the trailer.
The road shut down was longer than anticipated as police had to bring in specialized equipment to move the trailer, which was loaded with heavy goods.
A 53-year-old Oshawa resident has been charged with driving a commercial motor vehicle with an insecure load, driving a commercial motor vehicle with a major defect and failure to accurately complete a daily inspection report in connection with the incident.
