Reader wants value when reading news

Dear editor,

Here’s an interesting fun fact regarding your fine weekly local newspaper that I’ve noticed. That is, regarding your retail price tag on the top left cover page. I observe your price listing is $1 even though it is mostly free distribution.

The other semi-weekly local area paper has risen to a somewhat shocking $3 per issue (with a lot of flyers thrown in for “padded” measure).

I also noticed that the eight to 10 page Orono Weekly Times carries a price tag of $2 (or let’s say 20 cents per page).

If some retail establishments do choose to charge their customers for The Oshawa Express, five cents per page is still a great value.

Keep up the good work and fair pricing for those buying subscriptions to your paper, or paying retail for it.
