Police say impaired Brampton man fled from crash

A 41-year-old Brampton man has been charged after he fled the scene of a collision and was found to be impaired.

On Wednesday, Oct. 30, at approximately 4:50 p.m., a two-vehicle collision occurred at the intersection of Ritson Road and Beatrice Street in Oshawa. One of the drivers fled the scene. The vehicle was observed on fire in a parking lot at Simcoe Street and Adelaide Avenue a short time later.

Police say when officers arrived on scene, the driver fled on foot. Officers were able to catch up to the driver and arrest him.

The Brampton man has been charged with impaired driving and failing to stop after an accident.
