Oshawa man charged after strange airport incident

A 35-year-old Oshawa man is facing charges after entering the Oshawa Airport, boarding an aircraft near the runway and damaging a restroom in the building on May 12.

On Saturday, around 8:15 police were called to the Oshawa airport after it was reported that a man had entered an unauthorized area near the runway and boarded an aircraft taxiing for take-off. He then caused significant damage to the pipes and wiring in the women’s bathroom.

The man has been charged with mischief damage to property under $5,000, damaging or interfering air navigational facility, interfere duties of crew member and enter premises when entry prohibited. He was then held for a bail hearing.
