Oshawa residents are invited to spend the day with Oshawa Fire Services on June 10 at Fire Hall 5 for Community Fire Safety Day.
This year’s event, to benefit Camp Bucko, will include a range of activities, tours and a barbeque. Residents can peak inside a fire truck, meet their local firefighters and learn about the importance of fire safety and having a home escape plan through various demonstrations. Children can say hello to Sparky and Rescue Ronnie and test their skills in fire hose target practice and on the combat obstacle course
The free event runs from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Fire Hall 5, located at 1550 Harmony Road North.
Community Fire Safety Day also includes a barbeque sponsored by Harvey’s restaurants. Barbeque items will be available for purchase with all proceeds to help send a child to Camp Bucko (an Ontario camp for children recovering from burn injuries) this summer.
