The region has purchased another property along the Gibb Street and Olive Avenue corridor in order to make room for a planned road connection.
Councillors on the region’s works committee voted unanimously to approve the purchase of 217 Gibb St. for $195,000, plus an additional $35,000 for the demolition of the house.
The property purchase is part of a plan to connect Gibb Street and Olive Avenue. Speaking with The Oshawa Express in June, James Garland, one of the members of the project team for the expansion, says the project is set to get underway in 2021.
Garland added that the homes are purchased as they come on the market.
