Military Appreciation Week invades Kinsmen

Baseball Oshawa is once again honouring Canada’s troops with its annual Military Appreciation Week from June 8 to 14.

The schedule involves league games by all Oshawa rep teams at Kinsmen Stadium. There will be special pre-game ceremonies for each game.

The week will include involvement by the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 43 and their Pipes and Colour Guard.

There will also be special military guests, honoured veterans and ceremonial first pitches each day.

All rep teams will wear a military camo uniform top and hat. The top will also serve as each rep teams second uniform for hot weather use during the season.

Admittance to games is free.

Every Oshawa Legionaires rep team takes part in games at Kinsmen Stadium, with games taking place every night and throughout the weekend.

A special portable homerun fence will be put in place for each level starting with rookie ball at 150 feet.

All the week’s activities leads up to Baseball Day in Oshawa at Kinsmen Stadium on Saturday, June 15.
