Investigators have arrested a suspect after receiving information about a non-reported stabbing in Oshawa.
On June 19, investigators from Central East Division were given information of a serious stabbing that took place in an apartment on Nonquon Road in Oshawa on June 12.
The victim went to the suspect’s apartment and they became involved in a verbal altercation over a debt owed.
When the victim was attempting to leave, he was stabbed in the back. The victim made his way to a friend’s house and was later driven to a local hospital. The victim was then airlifted to a Toronto-area trauma center where he received treatment for a serious, but non-life threatening injury.
Police were not notified of the stabbing until the next week.
On June 26, a 28-year-old man was arrested and was charged with: aggravated assault, weapons dangerous and assault with a weapon. He was held for a bail hearing.
