A 70-year-old Oshawa male is in serious condition after being involved in a crash with a tractor-trailer.
At 8:16 a.m. on May 29, officers from Central West Division were called to a collision involving a tractor-trailer and a minivan at Winchester Road and Thornton Road in Oshawa.
A 70-year-old male from Oshawa was driving a 2010 Dodge Caravan northbound on Thornton Road approaching Winchester Road while a 68-year-old male from Sunderland was driving a tractor trailer westbound on Winchester Road when he struck the northbound minivan in the intersection.
The driver of the Caravan suffered serious injuries as a result of this collision and was airlifted to a Toronto area hospital. He is listed in stable condition.
The driver of the tractor-trailer sustained minor injuries and was transported to local hospital.
Members of the Durham Region Police Service Traffic Services Branch, Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene to conduct an investigation. The road was closed for several hours while evidence was collected.
