Police have arrested a 29-year-old male in connection with a home invasion and three robberies in Oshawa.
On Monday, May 6, 2019, at approximately 9:29 a.m., officers responded to a robbery at Jug City on King Street in Oshawa. The suspect entered the store armed with a knife and made a demand for cash. The male took cash and fled on foot. The clerk didn’t sustain any physical injuries.
According to police, minutes later, the suspect attended a nearby apartment on King Street and forcibly entered the residence while armed with a knife. The suspect made a demand for drugs from the male and female homeowners.
The female victim suffered minor injuries during the incident. The suspect was arrested shortly after in a residential building in Oshawa.
Police state further investigation revealed that the suspect was responsible for the two pharmacy robberies in Oshawa on April 22, 2019.
The 29-year-old man of King Street East in Oshawa, faces numerous criminal charges including robbery; assault with a weapon; uttering threats; and forcible confinement. He was held for a bail hearing.
