Man charged with vehicle mischief

A 26-year-old man has been charged with a number of mischief incidents that occurred in central Oshawa over the past two weeks.

On Saturday, Oct. 5, 2019, officers from Central East Division had identified the suspect and were attempting to locate him when he was spotted getting into a vehicle in a parking lot on Avenue Street.

Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but instead the driver hit three police vehicles as he attempted to flee the scene.

Two men exited the vehicle and ran into a nearby apartment building, with the two women remaining the vehicle were arrested by police.

A short-time later, the two men were also arrested.

One of the men was the suspect wanted for multiple mischief incidents in which parked vehicles were vandalized.

The 26-year-old man of Avenue Street in Oshawa is charged with: 20 counts of mischief under $5,000. He was held for a bail hearing.

A 38-year-old woman of Raike Drive in Oshawa is charged with: dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, assault with a weapon, drive while under suspension, flight from peace officer, and two counts of possession of a schedule 1 substance (cocaine and heroin). She was held for a bail hearing.

A 28-year-old woman of no fixed address is charged with: possession of a schedule 1 substance (heroin) and fail to comply with undertaking. She was held for a bail hearing.

Finally, a 24-year-old man of Dragonfly Avenue in Pickering, is charged with two counts of fail to comply with probation order. He was released on a promise to appear.
