For the second straight year, the Oshawa Generals have selected a player from Switzerland in the CHL Import Draft.
The Gens selected HC Davos forward Nando Eggenberger with the 33rd overall pick.
The 6’2 185 lbs Eggenberger was eligible for last month’s NHL Entry Draft but was not picked up.
He has been invited to attend the Vancouver Canucks prospect camp this week.
Eggenberger scored three goals and two assists in 36 games with HV Davos last season.
The Gens selected Swiss defenseman Nico Gross, recently drafted by the New York Rangers, in the 2017 Import Draft.
