In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Region of Durham has convened a Durham Region COVID-19 Funders’ Table.
It includes the United Way, Durham Community Foundation, the Red Cross, local area municipalities, and the Region of Durham.
The table will work to identify the most pressing needs in the region based on data, and to ensure that community funding allocations are well co-ordinated. These funding opportunities are available to qualified service providers, including those organizations that are providing help to the most vulnerable Durham Region residents, or those who have otherwise been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Organizations serving these vulnerable populations can learn more about the funding opportunities and how to apply for them by visiting durham.ca/ServiceProviderFunds.
The Region of Durham has also compiled a listing of available resources to support vulnerable and marginalized individuals in the community impacted by COVID-19. Residents who are worried about their income, shelter, food security, mental health, or transportation, are encouraged to visit durham.ca/CommunityResources for assistance and valuable information.
