Contract for electronic agendas up for vote at council

The region is a step closer to going digital.

In a report tabled at the latest finance and administration committee, Accela Inc. is set to be awarded a three-year contract to provide electronic agendas to council – in the process, getting rid of the paper copies typically given to councillors at committee and council meetings.

The contract, which has the option to be extended for up to two years, comes with an initial service and first-year cost of $41,200. Between the second and fifth years, should the contract be extended to its full term, the region will pay out a total of $198,106.
