A young Oshawa resident is facing charges after a pair of break and enters at a bike shop and car dealership over the weekend.
At approximately 6:15 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 27, police responded to a break and enter in progress at Precision Cycle Works on Simcoe Street. Officers at the scene saw that the door had been damaged, but access into the building had not been gained. A search of the area by a K-9 unit turned up a male hiding under a vehicle in a nearby shed. The male was taken to hospital to be treated for minor injuries he sustained after the police dog, Havoc, bit his leg.
Police say the youth is connected to a break in that took place at GB Services on Simcoe Street on Friday, Aug. 26. According to police, the windows and bars at the office were damage and entry was gained, although nothing was stolen.
A 13-year-old Oshawa male has been charged with attempted break and enter and break and enter at a business in connection with these incidents.
