Whitby thief spotted in Oshawa

Durham police say this man, wanted in connection with a theft in Whitby, has been spotted in Oshawa.

A man wanted for a January theft in Whitby has since been spotted in Oshawa.

On Wednesday, Jan. 28 at approximately 9 p.m., Durham police responded to a call from the Shoppers Drug Mart on Dundas Street East in Whitby for a man that had fled the store with stolen items. Police say a store employee attempted to stop the suspect, but the man was able to flee following an altercation.

Police say the suspect, described as black with a light complexion and freckles, between 20 and 30 years old, five feet and nine inches tall and a medium build, has since been spotted in the area of the Oshawa Public Library.
