Three arrested after stabbing outside Oshawa bar

Three men are facing charges after a stabbing outside of a bar in Oshawa.

On Dec. 23, at approximately 2:31 a.m., police were called to Ritson Road North and Taunton Road East in Oshawa after a 22-year-old male from Oshawa was stabbed with a knife outside of the Player’s Bench bar. Three suspects were seen fleeing in a vehicle. The victim received serious wounds and was taken to hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Responding officers searched the area and found the suspect vehicle travelling southbound in the area. When the officers attempted to pull the vehicle over, the vehicle jumped the median to change directions and entered a plaza parking lot. Officers drove into the parking lot from another entrance and were hit head-on by the suspect vehicle.  Two of the three suspects were in the vehicle and were placed under arrest. The third suspect was located at a nearby residence a short time later. Both vehicles received minor damage in the collision.

A 23-year-old from Brampton is charged with: failing to stop for police; two counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle; impaired operation of a motor vehicle; failing to provide a breath sample; two counts of failing to comply with a recognizance; assault and assault with a weapon.

A 17-year-old from Oshawa is charged with: aggravated assault; assault with a weapon; possession of a dangerous weapon and two counts of failing to comply with a recognizance.

An 18-year-old from Toronto is also charged with possession of cannabis.
