A Whitby teen struck by a vehicle on Good Friday has died in hospital.
The 17-year-old male, who was not named by police at the request of his family, was walking with friends in the area of Conlin Road and Thornton Road at around 10:52 p.m. on April 19 when he was hit by an eastbound vehicle.
Police report lighting and weather conditions were not favourable at the time of the incident.
The driver of the vehicle and the other two pedestrians were not injured.
This is Durham Region’s first pedestrian fatality of 2019. There were four pedestrian deaths last year.
