Tax hike equals free Wi-Fi at beach

As I read the paper today, two articles stood out to me. The first being free Wi-Fi being planned at Lakeview Park, and the second the two per cent tax hike for Oshawa residents. While free Wi-Fi is a nice idea, under current worldwide conditions with COVID-19, is this the best use of taxpayer’s money right now? Each year our taxes go up and normally I don’t complain because of the expanding services such as first responders and such as the city expands. I would like to think there are better places to spend $250,000 and $23,000 per year to help offset COVID-19 costs. I just am a little tired of our councillors spending taxpayer money on frivolous items (should I bring up the Cullen Gardens Miniature houses?).
