Suspect arrested after stabbing in Oshawa
An Oshawa man is in custody after allegedly stabbing another male last week.
On Friday, Feb. 7, at approximately 10:35 a.m., police were called to the area of Southgate Drive in Oshawa.
The victim was involved in a verbal altercation with the suspect and was stabbed in the chest. The suspect fled in a vehicle but was later located by police near Brock Street and Consumers Drive in Whitby before being taken into custody.
The victim suffered serious injuries and was taken to a Toronto-area hospital for treatment. He is expected to make a full recovery.
The suspect was taken to a local hospital to be assessed under the Mental Health Act.
A 29-year-old man from Oshawa is charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, possession of a dangerous weapon, break and enter and uttering threats. He was held for a bail hearing.
