Supplement store break-ins may be connected to Oshawa robbery

Durham police are investigating two robberies they say are related to another break and enter in Oshawa late last year.

On Wednesday, Jan. 20 at approximately 1:40 a.m., police were called to the Popeye’s Supplements store on Kingston Road in Pickering after an alarm had been triggered. Officers arrived on scene to find the front door had been smashed to gain entry, but nothing had been stolen.

Twenty minutes later, police responded to another Popeye’s Supplements, this time on Kingston Road East in Ajax. There, they found the front window had been smashed and cash stolen from inside.

Sgt. Bill Calder tells The Oshawa Express that these two robberies, as well as others in Toronto, that police are investigating whether these break-ins are related to one that took place in Oshawa in mid-December.

That break-in, which occurred on Tuesday, Dec. 15, saw the front door smashed in at the Popeye’s Supplements store at King Street West and Stevenson Road. Calder says cash was stolen in that robbery.

Anyone with information on any of these robberies is asked to call Det. Ludlow at 1-888-579-1520, ext. 1925.
