South Oshawa Community Centre named site for school vaccination clinics

The Durham Region Health Department has chosen its site for school vaccination clinics.

The South Oshawa Community Centre is serving as the community site for the Durham Region Health Department school vaccination clinics for the 2020-2021 school year.

The vaccinations are available by appointment only for Grade 7 students, or Grade 8 students who are catching up on their immunizations. Vaccination clinics are typically offered in schools but due to the COVID-19 pandemic will be offered at community sites across Durham Region.

The Durham Region Health Department provides up to three vaccines for Grade 7 students, or Grade 8 students who missed a vaccination in the spring due to the COVID-19 school closures, including Human Papillomavirus (HPV)Hepatitis B, and Meningococcal C-ACYW135 (Men C-ACYW135).

Vaccinations are free for students at the Durham Region Health Department vaccination clinics.
