Ridgeback food drive returns in time for Christmas
Teaming up with members of the Durham community, the Ontario Tech Ridgeback Leadership Council is once again ready for the holiday drive season.
Fans are invited to contribute what they can at seven upcoming Ridgebacks basketball and hockey home games.
Alongside Ontario Tech Indigenous Education and Cultural Services and the Ajax Rotary Club, the Ridgebacks encourage fans to bring donations of used hockey equipment and gently-used winter clothing such as coats, hats, scarves and mittens to the designated home games.
The equipment donations will be provided to those living in northern Ontario communities as many are isolated or remote fly-in communities, while the clothing will support those in need.
Admission will be granted for any donations made at the Campus Ice Centre or Campus Recreation & Wellness Centre for the following games:
Friday, Nov. 15 – Women’s Hockey vs. Brock – 7:30 p.m.
Saturday, Nov. 16 – Women’s Hockey vs. Guelph – 3:30 p.m.
Wednesday, Nov. 20 – Basketball vs. Ryerson – 6 and 8 p.m.
Friday, Nov. 22 – Men’s Hockey vs. UQTR – 7:30 p.m.
