Durham police recently made the second largest seizure of fentanyl in the history of the service.
The DRPS Drug Enforcement Unit recently concluded a drug trafficking investigation named Project Burza, which resulted in the seizure of approximately 14.5 kgs of fentanyl, 2.5 kgs of crystal meth, 2.8 kgs of cocaine and one kg of MDMA.
The estimated street value of all the drugs is approximately $1.5 million.
Five search warrants were executed at different locations in Toronto, York and Durham Regions.
Along with the drugs, investigators also recovered a loaded firearm, ammunition and $70,000 in cash.
A 41-year-old Richmond Hill man was charged with four counts of trafficking and other firearm-related charges.
