Police seize $15k in drugs
Durham police have arrested a Clarington man over prescription drugs being sold illegally in Oshawa and Clarington.
Police arrested the man on July 14 after observing several drug deals. At the time of his arrest, police say he had several types of drugs on him, including Oxycontin and Dilaudid pills – both painkillers – as well as two knives.
A search of the suspect’s car turned up a baseball bat, replica handgun, five knives, two expandable batons and bear spray.
A search warrant executed at the suspect’s residence turned up more drugs, along with $2,500 in cash.
A 49-year-old of Stanford Crescent in Clarington has been charged with one count of trafficking in a controlled substance, three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, two counts of possession of a prohibited weapon and one count of possession property obtained by crime.
