Oshawa resident dreams big with big win
Oshawa resident Fredrick Hines is now $1 million richer thanks to a winning ticket for a Maxmillions prize.
Hines, a recent retiree, says he played the lottery weekly.
“I won this on a $2 ticket,” he says.
The father and grandfather says he laughed in disbelief when he discovered his big win.
“I called my wife and asked if she was sitting down because we just won $1 million,” he exclaims. “She was so happy.”
He says the win feels good.
“It makes retirement easier and more relaxing,” adds the 68-year-old. “It changes the comfort level for sure.”
Hines says he plans to purchase a house, save some and enjoy the rest of his winnings.
The winning ticket was purchased at Flying J on Pettit Road in Fort Erie.
