In preparation for the 100th anniversary of Oshawa in 2024, the city is looking to recruit members for a community centennial committee to help develop a celebration program.
This committee will support the strategy of “conserving and celebrating” Oshawa’s “rich history and heritage,” as well as planning a “coordinated approach to celebrating significant upcoming anniversaries.”
Over the next five years, the committee will serve as a venue for local leaders and organizations to provide input, collaborate, plan and execute events, activities and initiatives that will take place in 2024.
The committee is looking for representatives from cultural and community organizations, as well as citizen members.
Applicants who are interested will be considered based on their work and volunteer experience, availability, academic qualifications, demonstrated expertise and interest in heritage.
Residents of all ages are encouraged to apply.
Additional information and application forms for the committee are available at www.Oshawa.ca/Oshawa100, and the deadline for applications is Jan. 24, 2020. Parties and individuals interested in applying must have an Oshawa address.
