Girl shot through window

2015-03-03

Durham police are investigating what it was that went through a window and hit a 10-year-old girl.

On Feb. 21 at approximately 11:30 p.m., something was shot through the front living room window of a house in the area of Dean Avenue and Normandy Street. Fragments of the projectiles bounced off a wall, hitting a 10-year-old girl on the arm, who was sitting on a couch at the time.

She did not require any medical attention.

Two holes were found in the window, and fragments of the projectiles have been sent for analysis to determine if they were bullets or pellets.

Durham police says this incident appears to be a case of mistaken identity.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to call Det. Dellipizzi at 1-888-579-1520, ext. 2766.
