The eight teams are now finalized for the OCAA men’s basketball championship March 6-8 at Durham College.
The No. 7 nationally ranked Lords booked their spot to the championship as the first place team in the OCAA east division on Feb. 14, making sure they didn’t take the easy route as host. Georgian College finished second in the east, also ensuring their spot at the end of the regular season.
In the west division Humber finished in first with the Mohawk Mountaineers, host of the upcoming CCAA national championship, earning a bye to the provincial championship by finishing second.
The remaining four teams were determined in their respective crossover qualifying games over the weekend.
On Saturday the first game of the day saw Centennial host the Lambton Lions. The Colts were defeated 97-70.
Fanshawe won the next qualifying game of the day, 81-71 over George Brown.
